Why Choose Pauntley Court ?

Pauntley Court is the most wonderfully intimate and special country house for you and your very close family and friends to stay for a whole weekend for your wedding.

As you crest the hill and come down the lane. the warm glow of Pauntley’s  pinkish-terracotta walls gives you the feeling of Italy or France and yet you are hidden away in the middle of the Gloucestershire countryside, with only the Norman church and the 16th century Dovecote as your neighbours.

Your Magical Weekend

You and your partner can arrive a night early on Thursday afternoon and treat yourselves to a massage or treatment in our wonderful Shepherd’s Hut, The Blissful Bower (link here).  Please do speak to Melissa to find out more about this option.

Up to 22 more guests can then arrive on the Friday and your wedding weekend can begin!  Why not arrange for a game of croquet or pétanque in the gardens before a relaxed and fun pre-wedding dinner out on the terrace in The Walled Garden or The Flower Room.  You can choose to have Dom the Pizza man with his horse box and pizza oven to make fresh pizzas for all your guests staying.

Some couples have organised a Treasure Hunt around the grounds, just ask us for some unusual clues to add in to your game that will keep your guests guessing!

Your Wedding Day

On your wedding day, wake up with the sun streaming in and look out over the beautiful quince trees and down to the lake beyond.  Enjoy a chilled and happy morning getting ready with your best friends, sipping a glass of fizz and having your hair and make up done.   Rachel, our amazing housekeeper can happily cook breakfast for your guests on both Saturday or Sunday morning.

For your wedding ceremony of up to a maximum of 24 people, choose from a church wedding in the Norman church just next door or a civil wedding in the elegant ballroom or out in the formal gardens in one of our 6 licensed spaces.  There is also the option of having a celebrant let ceremony and this can be anywhere in the grounds, even down by the lake where the resident swans might swim by.
