Bedrooms & Facilities

The Dick Whittington and John Masefield bedrooms are in the early 18th Century part of the house.  They are both light, spacious ensuite double bedrooms which can also be set up as twin bedded on request. These luxurious rooms, with Hungarian goose down pillows and duvets and high quality linen and towels will ensure you can relax and unwind instantly in total comfort.

For that lovely afternoon pot of tea for two with a homemade biscuit, both rooms have a kettle with tea pot and Nespresso coffee machines for your morning wake-up treat. Discreetly positioned flat screen Samsung televisions, a DAB Roberts radio and a hairdryer are available in each.

A delicious breakfast is served downstairs in the ballroom. There are two tables from which you can gaze across the lawns and beyond to the unspoilt Leadon valley. Guests may choose from a full English breakfast using our home-laid eggs and locally sourced produce or a generous continental breakfast of fresh croissants and seasonal fruit from the garden.

In the ballroom you will find a large welcoming sofa with a good variety of magazines, newspapers and books. There is also a communal fridge where you will find complimentary fresh milk and water. This fridge is useful for some of our guests who wish to keep their own bottle of white wine chilled for that early evening glass of wine before heading out to supper locally. We make sure there is a corkscrew and a decent wine glass to hand for you to use!

There is a grand piano at one end with access to some general music sheets for those budding pianists amongst us…. With two sets of french doors out into the garden in the summer, you can stroll around the wonderful lawns and sunken garden; look out across the paddocks down to the lake and cornmill from the ha-ha or perhaps just sit outside in the Bedouin tent and enjoy the peace and tranquility. In the winter we keep a crackling log fire going.
